Balloon Urchins are an Elite monster that can be hunted for loot. They are the Elite version of the Sea Urchin.

Spawning[]

Balloon Urchins spawn at Level 25 by the large tree next to the base of the waterfall, near the waterfall fishing spot. They can also spawn on the north east side of Amber Island. 1-3 Balloon Urchins will spawn after killing many Sea Urchins._[ verify ]

Behavior[]

They float around aimlessly until spotting the player, where they will then aggressively hunt after the player incessantly until the player runs away from them or they are defeated.

Stunning Balloon Urchins does not work well and they will likely try to continue attacking through the player's attacks.

When close, they will suck in air to inflate their bodies, then deflate, rapidly attacking the player with tiny projectiles. Although each of these attacks deal relatively low damage to a similarly-leveled player, they hit consecutively in a short span of time and can easily prove fatal to a low-level player. The range is also deceptive and can hit a player further off to the side than the projectiles appear to go, making this enemy relatively challenging to fight early on unless the player is prepared to do so.
