Obtain
Chainsaw is given to the player by Gale as part of the reward for finishing the Mission: Hot Spring Villa. It can also be purchased from the South Block Trade Post.

Usage
As implied by the tooltip, the chainsaw functions as both a tool for quickly felling trees but also as a powerful weapon, albeit with a slow attack rate. Furthermore, the chainsaw can be used to recover placed items in the same way as any axe.
