The Master Fishing Rod is a tool that can be used for fishing. It is an upgrade over the Beginner's Fishing Rod and Classic Fishing Rod, as in addition to increased line strength, it is faster and easier to reel in all types of fish.

The Master Fishing Rod is a unique item, so only one can be obtained per player character.

Obtaining[]

The Master Fishing Rod can be obtained by donating one emperor fish from each of the thirteen fish species to the Museum. The Master Fishing Rod will arrive fully crafted in the player's mailbox immediately after donating the last emperor fish.

If the player donated all of the emperor fish before donating all of the common versions, the player will also get the Salted Fish Sword weapon in the mail. Likewise, if the player donates all king fish prior to donating all common or emperor fish, the player will receive the Salted Fish Sword, Master Fishing Rod, and Crystal Fish Tank at the same time.

Necessary fish[]

Usage[]

The Master Fishing Rod can be used for fishing at fishing spots by pressing the interaction button when close enough to the fishing spot for the prompt to appear. The player must have at least one Caterpillar in their inventory in order to fish, and one Caterpillar is consumed for each fish that is caught.

Known bugs[]

As of version Steam 1.1.130102:

  • Sometimes, despite the player donating every Emperor fish, the player still does not receive the rod in the mail the following day. There is no known fix or work-around. It is suggested that the player donate all the fish at once so that they can reload a few days prior and try again.
