Hey there! Do you know anything about adjusting the mobile view of the wiki? I've realized that templates don't seem to show up in the mobile view. I'm adding a spoiler alert template, but when I try testing it on mobile, it doesn't show up. It's like it doesn't want to transclude any templates when viewing on mobile.
Unfortunately, I don't know anything about mobile... so I'm not sure what to do.
Hey, I learned why those templates weren't showing up! Apparently Notice templates are hidden on mobile by default. By the way, it looks like the Infoicon template is what prevents our Template:I and Template:IC from displaying quantities. Thanks again for sharing those help links, they were very helpful.
Speaking of infoicons, we've run into the problem that when viewing on mobile, if you tap on an image using I or IC, it takes you directly to the image page, not to the item's page. Any idea how we can fix that? I'll do some research too and see what I can find.
Hi Lotus, I'm the main editor/administrator for Gamepedia's My Time at Portia wiki (esposaderojo). With the recent announcement, I thought it would be good to have a discussion about the future. What's the best place for us to do that? Slack/Discord/etc.? Looking forward to working with you :)
(I'm posting this on the other admins' walls too.)
So Luminaire from the Portia PR team is willing to talk to you about a wikia-specific channel on the Portia Discord. She says you tried talking to James He about it on October 25th using your Lotus screen name. The difference in screen names is what confused them.
If you still want a channel, you can try to message her directly on Discord, or I can invite you to our conversation on Discord. If you want me to invite, I'll need your discord name
You have met all the requirements, have been active for the last month (more or less), and have shown characteristics and dedication in helping out the wiki.
I've gone ahead and made you a content moderator. If you need any assistance on how to use this position's tools, feel free to ask me. Nonetheless, I think you'll learn more by exploring it yourself, but of course if something doesn't make sense, you can always ask.
Hello! I was wondering if you needed more volunteers. Thus far, I've just been adding to pages where I find incomplete/outdated information. Later I noticed on the admins page how there were positions available, but could not find another way to offer beyond this. Would you like help with Rollbacks, or something else in the wiki? I'd love to help if you want.
My main worry is I'm not as far along in the questline as others (just helping Mint build his bridge), meaning I don't know everything about the game yet. But there are things I do know about that I'm pretty sure I could handle.
I am looking for volunteers, and after reviewing your edits, you're more than capable of helping out the wiki.
A rollback's main purpose on the wiki is to quickly revert edits in one click (rather than going through multiple pages to undo an edit). All edits made by one user (consecutively) will be reverted to the previous editor before them, as well as hiding the edit from the Wiki Activity, which is a helpful tool in reverting vandalism and spam. This wiki is quite popular for viewers, so we're more than likely to have bad edits from time to time. Since that is their only function, I am not too worried of misuse. I've gone ahead and made you a rollback.
You're still fairly new to this wiki in terms of recent activity. If you demonstrate your capabilities and dedication to the wiki, your next step would be a moderator position, which will have more tools to help the wiki. Continue editing, making best judgment, and stick around a little longer; I am looking forward to seeing you work for that position. :)
Hey so I'm not sure what to do - A guy created a page for "Magmar" (a pokemon) and then edited the fur page. I fixed fur, but I have no idea how to delete Magmar. Any ideas? If I need higher clearance/rights, can I get them? I'm at 206 edits now. I don't want people to think they can vandalize / make a purposefully wrong page, and want to be able to fix and protect where I can.
anyway, thanks for listening! Here's a link if it helps. BTW are you on discord?
I am not sure how active you are these days, but I was wondering about your response to vandalism. There has been a ton of it recently (just got back from reverting changes on Nora's page). Do you ban IPs, or lock pages, or lock against unregistered accounts, or just allow any changes and revert bad ones?
Normally, if the vandalism is mild, I just undo the edit and not block the user. However, if it's in obvious intentions, say using inappropriate language, I do however block them for a set amount of time, usually a week to a month. A week is usually enough to stop them and discourage them from coming back. Repeated offenders usually are blocked longer than a month. IP blocks are only issued in dire situation, and only through VSTF.
Page protection only happens when the page has received a vast amount of attention to vandalize.
I've gone ahead and blocked them. Let me know if you need any more help. Perhaps you can help me out by becoming a moderator?
Question - there is a user called User:MY Gaming Tube who apparently has a YouTube channel and was vandalizing pages with links to his channel in such a way to make it appear as a resource. We already restored the pages, but is he allowed to advertise that on his personal page?
I've been constructing a 'prototype' edit in my sandbox to revamp the skills page, them being completely "shaken up" and new skills added as well as the maximum per teir being removed. It's coming along nicely but the lines between the teirs are broken. Most of the 'directions' for the drawn lines seem to be correct but the actual positioning is not. Any help there would be appreciated. Also, this work is free to be used by anyone that wants to polish it off if they get there before I do.
Hi there, I was wondering where you find the images for items and such in the game? I tried looking in my game files for images but cant find any :/ I was assuming maybe people just take screenshots (Which in some cases I guess they do for things like monsters) but there are others that look too standardized to be the case (given that people could have various resolutions, not to mention some of these items are transparent).
Located "2.2 beta2 (32bit : here or here, 64bit : here or here)" at the bottom of the first post. Download whichever one is suitable for your computer: 32bit or 64bit.
After that, you can start extracting the asset files. This will be located in:
Steam > steamapps > common > MTaP > Portia Data
Steps to get there may differ between file location and computer.
Under Portia Data, look for "Resources.assets" ASSET file (not RESS file). It is the largest ASSET file there. You only need to extract this one.
Once you have extracted this file, you can extract all Texture2D files. It is easier to locate all of them when your sort out the Name and Type column. Select all the Texture2D files (and only the Texture2D files), go under Plugins on the right side, and save them as .png on a new folder.
