Completing Carol's Sewing Machine unlocks the Clothing Store's Revision service, where the stats and extra effects from one clothing item can be transferred to another clothing item of the same type.

Overview[]

There are no prerequisites to this mission.

Required stations[]

The player must have the following to complete this mission:

Conduct of the mission[]

It triggers after the player receives a letter from Carol.

Dear Builder,
I'm sorry, but can you come see me when you have time? I need you to build something for me, fast!
— Carol

Upon receiving the letter, the player must talk to her.

Oh Builder, there you are! I'm sorry for asking you to come all this way, but I have a commission for you. You see, I was teaching Molly how to sew the other day...and the sewing machine broke part way through! It wasn't her fault, the machine was hundreds of years old anyway. But without a sewing machine, how am I to keep up with the demand? Can you be a dear and help me fix it?
  • Sure, I will
  • I'm a little busy at the moment
→  Sure, I will
Thank you! I had Petra come over and take a look, she said that a cap-setter thing in the machine's broken, do you know what that is?
No idea, maybe I'll go ask her.

Carol gives the player the Sewing Head from her broken machine. The player then needs to talk to Petra for the Industrial Sewing Machine diagram.

Ask Petra[]

Upon talking to Petra:

Carol's sewing machine? It's totaled, you can forget about fixing it. The model she had was really advanced, using things like silicon chips and capacitors. We don't know how to fix these. I can help you research a sewing machine that we can actually make, just bring me 5 data discs. You know what to do, chop, chop.

Collect Data Discs[]

Upon turning in 5 Data Discs:

Nice! These will do, I'll get back to you soon!

Wait for Diagram[]

After a day, Petra will send the following in the mail:

Hey Player,
Here's the diagram for the Industry Sewing Machine as promised. I made a few adjustments so that it should work better than what Carol had. I also went ahead and removed the Sewing Head from Carol's machine and attached it here. I don't think we can duplicate it... So, DON'T LOSE IT!
— Petra

Construct an Industrial Sewing Machine[]

The player will have to craft the Industrial Sewing Machine on the Assembly Station; since the Sewing Head is a unique item, the Industrial Sewing Machine cannot be crafted again.

After giving the completed sewing machine to her, Carol says:

Wow, this is a lot bigger than the sewing machine I had! I'll need to figure out some room to place it.
Thank you so much for your help! Now I can get back to my work.

Post-conduct[]

Four to five days after completing the mission the player receives a mail from Carol:

Normal

From: Carol

Dear Player,
The sewing machine you made me is incredible! I'm able to complete each garment much faster now! I think I'm also able to update a clothes' attribute with this machine. Why don't you come over and see for yourself, first try's on me!
