The Farmer is a secondary mission.
Overview[]
The player must have already met Emily to receive this mission. "Meeting" a character is defined as interacting with that character for the first time. (If the player meets Emily after Year 1, Spring Day 4, then this mission will likely appear the next day.)

Conduct of the mission[]
On Spring Day 4, Emily commissions the player to try out the planter boxes and gives the player seeds and fertilizer.

Also, just a tip, but using fertilizer can help you increase the harvest. Let me give you some of that as well. | |

Craft the Planter Box[]
Emily gives the player a crafting recipe for the Small Planter Box, 5 Wheat Seeds, and 5 Fertilizer. The player needs to use the book and craft the Planter Box, then plant Wheat Seed and wait three days for it to grow. Using Fertilizer is not necessary.
