Overview[]

The player must have completed One Chair to Rule them All. verify ]

There is a time limit of two days.

Required stations[]

The player must have the following to complete this mission:

Conduct of the mission[]

Several days after completing One Chair to Rule them All the player can enter the Civil Corps building to find Arlo, Sam, and Remington talking. As the player enters, Arlo and Sam leave, and Remington approaches the player:

Hey, glad you're here. There's something shady going on in our town recently. Arlo put me in charge of the investigation and we need everyone in town to cooperate.
I don't suppose you've heard of a bandit called "Logan" from Sandrock?
No, who is he?
He's been wanted out there for a long time, word is he's tough and ruthless. What's more, we've received information from one of our sources that he may be out and about near Portia.
Arlo and Sam spotted some suspicious characters sneaking around out east, we think it could be Logan and his gang sizing up our town.
We run a tight ship around here as you know; frankly, I'm surprised he thinks Portia is the kind of town he could pick on. Looks like we're going to have to teach him a lesson.
That sounds bad...
He'll slip up sooner or later. If you see anything suspicious around town or anywhere else, inform me or one of the other Civil Corps members immediately, yeah?
Okay, no problem.

Two days later Remington shows up at the player's workshop:

Player, got something urgent! An informant of ours has reported that those suspicious characters trade regularly with someone not far from the East Gate. Their next meeting should be in two days, we need your help.
Informant?
Alright, okay, maybe not so much an informant as a nosey tourist. Usually they just bother us with non-issues but... well, don't worry about the detective work, that's on us.
What we need you to do is to build us a giant net. Way I see it, nets are good for catching bandits. Then, once they're caught in the net, me and the Corps move in and get to the bottom of all this!
Ingenious plan!
Alright then, get me that net. Time waits for no one.

Build the Facilities[]

The following item is required to complete this mission:

WorktableWorktable Worktable
Item Tab Materials Sell price

Parts

Rope
25

Bringing both the net back to Remington ends the mission:

Great. I'll come get you when things are about to go down!

Post-conduct[]

If the player completes the mission in time, on the morning the operation is planned for Remington will show up at the player's workshop again:

Today is the day! Those outlaws thought we'd sleep through their little scheme... To the east gate!

The player follows Remington to the small forest outside the Central Plaza gate where Arlo and Sam are waiting.

Cutscene start

A cutscene plays with the Corps members throwing the net on the bandits who appear to be masked Huss and Tuss:

Woooah!
Ahh!

The Civil Corps realize they made a mistake:

What?! You two!? Where's Logan?!
What's a Logan? We were simply purchasing Sandrock Yakmel sausages to add to our famous homestyle chili for all of you, and this is the thanks we get?!
I'm seeing three Sams... which is nice, bro!
Er, alright, so let's say maybe you are innocent this time. What's with the masks and all the secrecy?
It was supposed to be a surprise!!!
Oh... Ooohhhh...!
You can't do this to us! We know our rights!
That's right!
We're the ones guarding the Research Center day and night, despite sleeping on the street! And how does this town repay us? Unfairness! Treachery! Accusations! Nets!
It seems no one has changed their opinion of us: in spite of our tireless efforts guarding the research station, in spite of our sleeping on public benches as we live on the straight and narrow, scrounging and saving for a place of our own... how does this town repay us? Violence! Treachery! Discrimination! Nets!
But, how could a bag of sausage... hurt so much?
Okay, okay! We're sorry for falsely accusing you this time... and the sausages! Maybe we can make it up to you two in some way. I'll speak with the Mayor.
Everyone else... Some might say this could've gone better. And... they'd be right. Nevertheless, our search for Logan does not end here. The only thing that ends here is the merciless bashing of innocent people. No more of that.
Yes! Make it so!

The next morning Remington shows up at the player's wokshop again, this time to hand them a Wanted Poster:

Still no sign of that Logan ruffian. Here, take a wanted poster. Let his image burn into your mind so you recognize him instantly if you ever see him!

Similar wanted posters also appear on the walls in the town.

The next Sunday, a fireside meeting will take place where Mayor Gale will announce the plan to build Huss and Tuss a house.

Characters' comments after the mission[]

Some characters have unique lines about Logan, Huss, and Tuss after the mission:

Merciful murgatroyd, I do hope they get that bandit fellow. It's possible they'd like to abduct me and put me in a museum of some sort. That would be a substandard existence.
Ah, the Huss and Tuss brothers. Tragic characters. They remind me of cheesy villains from kid books. Or some book where the hero is a dog.
I'm not upset with the way Remington handled things. If I'm being honest, I would've done the same thing. So I guess, in a way, I'm happy that I'm not being blamed for this.
I think I saw that "Logan" character lurking around the tree-farm... although... now that I think about it... statistically speaking... it was probably just a tree.
Sandrock yakmel sausage! If I had a source for that stuff, I'd keep it a secret, too!
I told my mom I want to grow up to be a bandit like Logan! She said I could if I get good grades in school!
It's so sad what's happened with those two weird brother guys. If I'd known they were having trouble getting by, I could've hired them to help out with chores!
Are we just gonna forget about there being a bandit out there on the loose? I think it's about time for some investigative journalism... verify ]
Everyone, including me, is really beat up about Huss and Tuss being treated so badly. But don't worry, we're working on something very special that I think will set everything right again!
I'm hardly surprised the Huss and Tuss brothers managed to get into trouble again. It's just what they do.
Bandits! The lowest of the low... ... come to think of it... you know how I feel about thievery, don't you?!
I don't like those Huss and Tuss guys, but it's a shame what happened to them.
Our church would never turn away a lost soul... I'm glad these souls happen to be human for a change! Er, no offense to Ack and Wendy!
If you need someone to go undercover and look for this Logan guy... Well, I don't have any experience... but I can try.
The Huss and Tuss brothers are a great example of why everyone should stay in school.
I didn't know the Huss and Tuss brothers were living like that. I would have baked them some bread if they'd asked...
You all are trying to catch Logan? I think you'd better hope you don't catch him...
I admire the Civil Corps' sleuthing skills! Those sausage smugglers were sneaking right past my door and I never noticed!
They're going to catch that Logan, right? Bad guys don't just... get away, do they?
My question in all of this is: what happened to that "Logan" guy, anyway? Are we still in danger?
Huss and Tuss have been sleeping on benches rather than resorting to their old life of crime... that's pretty manly! I think they deserve a reward.
Portia has endured much worse than the likes of some "would-be bandit king." He'll get what's coming to him, sooner or later.
We're going to do something good for Huss and Tuss, we just have to!
People like Logan always get what's coming to them in the end.
We didn't find the bandit, "Logan," but we did shine light on a situation that needed attention!
If Logan tries to sneak into my shop to get a haircut... well... I might just give him a haircut! What else could I do??
I'm out in the desert all the time, and I've never seen anything suspicious. What if this means... I'm really oblivious to my surroundings?? ... It's too cold for this...
Did you hear? The Huss and Tuss brothers have been sleeping in the streets! That's like, so sad! ... Anyway, what's new with you?
I hope that bandit guy isn't also a pirate...
Maybe it's for the best those sausages were lost; just imagine what could've happened to our digestive systems if we'd eaten all those spicy sausages at once! verify ]

Some characters have unique lines about Gale's plan to build Huss and Tuss a house:

This article or section is a stub. You can help expand it. Comments: More characters have dialogues but they are only avalible after the fire meeting, disapears the day after.
More citizens means more customers, haha!
More new neighbors! I really love how bustling our town is becoming!
You know, I'm actually kinda proud of these two, they've come a long way.

Failing the mission[]

If the player fails to complete the mission in time, Remington will tell them how the investigation went:

Hey, you kinda let us down. We were counting on your net... well, it didn't much matter I suppose, as our villains turned out to just be Huss and Tuss discreetly buying Sandrock yakmel sausage...
The worst part is they were planning to make chili for the whole town as a surprise, and we ruined it! I knew I never should've listened to that tourist! Well... take it easy.
