Personal Summary
Sanwa was born on Autumn of Day 15 and is the third of the Hulu Brothers. At some point, Sanwa, his brothers, and his grandmother, Yeye, moved to Portia. Despite being colorblind, Sanwa is renowned for his skills with the scissors learning to style hair after visiting Walnut Groove. Sanwa became adept in hairstyling within 10 years. After competing in the local hairstyling competition, many of the citizens mocked his colorblindness, even accidentally dying Remington's hair green at one point. This caused Sanwa to stop pursuing his career as a barber. However, he was given Color-blind Correction Glasses to help with his condition; as a result, he reopened his barbershop once more.
Sanwa loves to eat vegetarian foods, such as Fruit Salad and Vegetable Salad. Sanwa dislikes eating hot pot during the Winter Solstice and on dinner dates due to the spiciness of the dish. He once believed a friend who told him that the hot pot was not spicy, only to strain the relationship between the two. Sanwa also dislikes the texture of noodles, regardless of how it looked and smelled.
Physical Appearance
Sanwa, like all of his brothers, is a rather rotund man. He has short, dark hair under an yellow bucket hat with a orange headband. (After the player gives them to him), he wears glasses with blue and green frames and he has a full beard. He wears his yellow sweater vest emblazoned with the trademark calabash gourd and Hulu name over the top of a white short-sleeved shirt with red stripes on the sleeve. His red shorts are patterned with yellow hearts, and he has pink shoes on over his yellow socks.

Relationship
Sanwa is one of the potential bachelors that the player can romance.
Upon reaching Friend status at four full hearts, the player can confess their love to him with a Heart Knot. If the confession is successful, his relationship status changes to Boyfriend. After Sanwa has become the player's boyfriend, upon reaching Lover status at eight full hearts, the player can then propose to him with a Wedding Ring. If the proposal is successful, his relationship status changes to Husband. Once certain other conditions have been met, Sanwa and the player can then try for children.
Additionally, upon meeting certain relationship levels, certain perks are rewarded.

Desires
The following items are desires, or wishes, which are randomly assigned to one or two characters per week. The player is required to be at least at Associate level with Sanwa for them to be assigned a desire. Some characters may desire an item that they do not normally like.
In the event that Sanwa has a desire, gifting the wanted item will provide the higher tier points; otherwise, on non-desired events, the item gives the base point value. The birthday or festival day relationship bonus applies when gifting a desired item. The following items are desires, which are randomly assigned to one or two NPCs per week. Invitation
Occasionally, first thing in the morning, the player may leave their house to find Sanwa outside, hoping to invite the player out for a date or play date.
Play
Once the player has become buddies with Sanwa, they can schedule a play date together.
Date
After the player has successfully confessed how they feel to Sanwa, the player can schedule a romantic date with Sanwa.
If the player chooses to dine at The Round Table with Sanwa during a play date or date, it is recommended to order dishes Sanwa will like. If asked before ordering, Sanwa will sometimes tell the player exactly which dishes to order; other times, Sanwa will just give little hints. In the event that Sanwa does not specify the exact foods desired, the player should order between three and six dishes, depending on what hint Sanwa gives. It is recommended to order each of those dishes from different courses, ex. ordering one Appetizer, Meat, Vegetable, Dessert, and Drink course each, rather than five Desserts.
Sanwa's food preferences are listed below. The player is advised to use these preferences only when Sanwa does not tell the player what to order. If Sanwa tells the player a list of dishes to order or gives a hint, it is advised to follow Sanwa's wishes instead. The full restaurant menu can be found at The Round Table page.

As the player develops their relationship with Sanwa, special interactions are unlocked, including Hug and Kiss.
Relic Trade
Sanwa occasionally uses the Relic Pieces Exchange board at the Museum to trade for relic pieces. Sanwa likes to look at particular completed relics, so after the player has donated such relics to the Museum or displayed them in their yard, Sanwa may come visit the Museum or the player's yard to view these relics. Such visits will earn the player relationship points each time, with the amount dependent upon the relic.
