Trivia[]

  • Alice hates Snake Berries because she used to eat them when she couldn't afford any food.
  • Some of the real-life berries commonly referred to as snake berries are either bitter (or otherwise highly unpleasant tasting), poisonous, or both, and as such are not generally considered as food unless desperate. Certain varieties of snake berries are safe to eat, but have little flavor.
    • For example, with actaea rubra, as few as six berries can induce poisoning in an adult, while as few as two berries can be fatal to a child.
    • However, the parts of two other kinds of snake berries are sometimes used in external treatments for the skin condition eczema: solanum dulcamara's stems and duchesnea indica's leaves.
